Kisasa claimed both the Primary and Secondary School titles at the 2026 FQM Trident Interschools Independence Tournament, completing a memorable double with victories over Mukonzhi and Kankonzhi at Sentinel Grounds.

Kisasa emerged as the standout school of the 2026 FQM Trident Interschools Independence Tournament after winning both finals on Saturday, bringing the competition to a close in emphatic fashion.

The Primary School side began the celebrations with a perfect 6–1 victory over Mukonzhi before Kisasa Day Secondary School followed with a convincing 3–0 win against Kankonzhi Day Secondary School.

The double capped an impressive campaign in a tournament that attracted 37 schools from across Kalumbila District and was played under the theme “A Kick for Safety”.

Kisasa overpower Mukonzhi in Primary School final

Kisasa were crowned Primary School champions after an emphatic 6–1 victory, with Bwalya Kapambe scoring a first-half hat-trick to put his side firmly in control.

Elijah Kuliye, Robert Kangungu and Collins Dimbamuntu also found the net as Kisasa produced a clinical attacking display. Mukonzhi's task grew harder after they were reduced to 10 players early in the contest.

Harrison Keshi scored Mukonzhi's consolation goal, but Kisasa maintained their advantage to seal the title with a five-goal margin.

Kisasa Day complete the double

Kisasa Day Secondary School kept the celebrations going with a 3–0 win over Kankonzhi Day Secondary School in the Secondary School final.

Beston Mulowa, Swana Nganga and Sirgive Kamwengo scored the goals as Kisasa Day delivered a composed performance to secure the championship.

Kankonzhi created opportunities but were unable to find a way past goalkeeper Ackison Shiku, whose performance helped preserve the clean sheet.

The result confirmed Kisasa's dominance across both categories, with the school collecting the two titles on offer.

Kisasa lead individual honours

Kisasa's success extended to the individual awards, with the school claiming several of the tournament's major honours.

Mukonzhi's Harrison Keshi finished as the category's top scorer with seven goals.

A platform for youth development

The 2026 edition featured 37 schools, comprising 28 in the Primary School category and nine in the Secondary School competition.

Beyond the results, the tournament provided a platform for young footballers to showcase their abilities while promoting safety awareness, teamwork and discipline under the theme “A Kick for Safety”.

Supported by FQM Trident Limited, the competition forms part of the broader grassroots football development efforts associated with Sentinel Football Academy, which aims to identify and nurture promising young players.
