Defending champions Chovwe and Luanvundu secured places in the semi-finals of the FQM Trident Interschools Independence Tournament after winning their respective Secondary School knockout matches at Kisasa on Sunday.
Chovwe edged Jiwundu 1–0 to keep their title defence on course, with Jubest Sakayongo scoring the decisive goal.
The defending champions held on for the victory to book their place in the last four, moving one step closer to a return to the final.
Luanvundu also advanced after a 1–0 victory over Chitungu in the other Secondary School knockout fixture.
John Katana scored the only goal of the match to send Luanvundu through to the semi-finals.
Chitungu were reduced to 10 players following a red card during the contest, but Luanvundu ultimately secured the result to complete the day's successful progression.
The two results complete another important stage of the Secondary School competition, with Chovwe and Luanvundu now joining Kisasa and Kankonzhi already through to the semi-finals.
The tournament now moves towards the next stage as the remaining schools continue their pursuit of the 17 October finals.
The 2026 FQM Trident Interschools Independence Tournament features 37 schools and is being played under the theme “A Kick for Safety.”
